Utah-Based Iomega Unveils New Internet Application.

Nov. 18 -- LAS VEGAS -- Iomega Corp. on Tuesday unveiled yet another new application for its Zip data-storage drive, saying it wants Zip to become the medium people use to securely download music and other data from the Internet's World Wide Web.
The Roy-based company has dubbed its new initiative Record/Play.
"Essentially, it will make our products a video cassette recorder for the Internet," said Ted Briscoe, president of Iomega's personal storage division.
Iomega initially is working with Soundstone.com of Somerville, Mass., on the first product developed under the initiative, which will be called Tunus Collectus and available early next year.
