Nov. 28 -- Determined but nimble is a good way to characterize Wichita's Cessna Aircraft Co.

Author Jeffrey Rodengen captures that spirit in his book "The Legend of Cessna."

The company has been that way since 1911, when founder Clyde Cessna kept flying, crashing and fixing the rudimentary airplane he assembled on his farm near Rago.

Cessna's nephew, Dwane Wallace, was just as determined when he took over the company during the Depression and put it on the path of aviation greatness it enjoys today.

"They've always been indomitable, even back to Clyde," said the soft-spoken Rodengen during a recent interview in Wichita.
