Scottish and Southern Energy to Build Status as Dominant Player in Britain.

Dec. 16 -- Newly merged electricity giant Scottish and Southern Energy will eschew the fashion for growth through foreign empire building and concentrate on building its status as a dominant player in Britain.

The Perth-headquartered group, headed by chief executive Jim Forbes and the result of the UKpound 5 billion combination of Southern Electric and Scottish Hydro-Electric, said its earnings will remain 100 percent "made in Britain".
