Many Vehicles, Few Stars Expected at Detroit Auto Show.

Jan. 4 -- One of the biggest attractions at this year's Detroit auto show was bolted and hammered together from 200 tons of steel -- and none of it rolls on tires.
Ford Motor Co. is erecting a two-story, 82,000-square-foot exhibit for the show that the company says is the largest display in the history of the event. The exhibit includes two elevators and an escalator.
The fact that some people in Detroit are talking more about Ford's giant exhibit than the products it will contain suggests that there won't be many -- if any -- blockbuster models introduced when the show opens Monday, analysts say.
