Online Gaming Moves to Web, America Online from Pay Sites.

Jan. 8 -- As the online gaming business matures and more people want to play, developers are looking for new ways to meet the increased demand.

Instead of offering their titles on in-house pay-to-play sites, they're moving onto gaming channels at heavily visited Web sites and online services such as America Online.

The goal, they say, is to bring their content to a larger audience and to build a greater awareness of the variety of online games being created.
