Feb. 4 -- MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL PROFITS RISE: Marriott International Inc., a Bethesda hotel operator, reported net income for its fourth quarter ended Dec. 31 increased 18 percent to $114 million (44 cents diluted) from $97 million (36 cents) for the fourth quarter of 1997.

Revenues rose 10 percent to $2.52 billion from $2.29 billion a year ago.

For fiscal 1998, net income increased 20 percent to $390 million ($1.46) from $324 million ($1.19) for 1997.

Revenues rose 10 percent to $7.96 billion from $7.23 billion for 1997.
