IBM to Announce Alliance with Linux Software Provider.

Feb. 18 -- Big Blue will swing its weight behind the rapidly emerging Linux operating system today when it announces an alliance with Red Hat Software.
Durham-based Red Hat, a leading provider of the Linux operating system, will work with IBM to develop, market and support Linux on IBM products aimed at business customers. Through IBM's Business Partners, resellers of IBM hardware, business customers will be able to buy servers, workstations and laptop computers that run official Red Hat Linux.
