Glitch Halts Charles Schwab's Online Trading Service for 90 Minutes.

Feb. 25 -- Customers of Charles Schwab & Co.'s online trading service could not make trades for about 1 1/2 hours Wednesday because of a glitch in a recently installed computer.

The problem follows disruptions at three other major Internet brokerages in the past month. The problems at Schwab, the nation's largest discount and online brokerage company, began at 8:37 a.m. Dallas time, just after the major stock exchanges opened, and lasted until 10:07 a.m., said Dan Hubbard, Schwab spokesman.
