Intel Jumps into Home Networking with New Products.

Apr. 7 -- Intel Corp. put its stamp of approval on home networking Tuesday, introducing the first of what's expected to eventually be a wide array of products that will transform a home's collection of stand-alone electronics devices into a cohesive communications system built around the Internet and digital video on demand.

The first AnyPoint Home Network products are connectors priced between $79 and $189 that will link multiple PCs and printers together over the standard phone lines found in virtually every home.

The products currently are limited to connecting PCs, but have been praised for being easy to install. They are also likely to be replaced by faster connections built directly into new PC's by...
