Four Phildelphia-Area Firms Make Tools of War.

Apr. 20 -- When it comes to the air war being waged over the Balkans, at least four Philadelphia-area companies have helped NATO get it together.

Boeing in Ridley Park makes helicopters, including two that may play key roles in the military and refugee relief efforts in the Kosovo tragedy.

Lockheed Martin in Moorestown, N.J., makes the Aegeis Combat Weapons System for the Navy's 26 Ticonderoga-class cruisers and 26 Ardleigh Burke-class destroyers.

There's a greater chance that the NATO alliance would fall apart than the aerospace-grade fasteners made for nearly every military aircraft by SPS Technologies, of Jenkintown.

And Marconi Aerospace Electronic Systems, in Lansdale, makes radar...
