Comcast Grows in New Jersey with Cable System Swap.

May 27 -- Already a regional superpower, Comcast Corp. is poised to become the state's largest cable operator under a nationwide swap of systems with Adelphia Communications.
The shuffle, announced yesterday, would involve 904,000 subscribers of the two companies. Comcast would pick up 464,000 subscribers from Adelphia, including 106,000 in Ocean County. Adelphia would add 440,000 customers, mostly from Comcast systems in the plum markets of Los Angeles and Palm Beach, Fla. Comcast would bump Cablevision, which is currently the state's largest cable operator.
