Bank of America Loses Head of Consumer Credit Card Division.

Jul. 9 -- Eileen Friars, one of Bank of America's highest-ranking female executives, has left the company for undisclosed reasons. In her place, Ken Kido, 41, will serve as the new head of the company's consumer credit card division.

Only about a quarter of the bank's customers carry a Bank of America credit card -- one reason Kido says he'll work to enlarge the business among existing customers. "That's what we see as an opportunity," he said in a brief interview in his Charlotte office.

The bank did not disclose Friars' departure, nor is it clear why she left in May.

"It's old news," said bank spokesman Dennis Wyss. "Why should we put that in the press release? ... She left on her own...
