Jul. 17 -- SMALL PRICE TO PAY TO BOOST YOUR CHANCE OF FLOAT SUCCESS: Brilliant, it would be, if you could book a privileged place in the queue to buy shares in the next hot telecoms stock to float. And, just perhaps, fleet-footed readers of the Daily Mail might have the chance.

New-issue fans will hardly need telling about Kingston Communications, the telecoms business just floated by the Kingston upon Hull City Council. Quite rightly, the council opted to give priority applications to local residents once the institutions had grabbed their piece.

That has been a stunning success. The shares have raced from 225 pence to 325 pence, and there may be more to come -- either from a bid or from remarkable...
