Sep. 15 -- Dr. Karen L. Newman, former associate dean of the business school at Georgetown University, has begun serving as dean of the E. Claiborne Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond.
Newman brings to Richmond international business credentials earned at colleges and universities from Czechoslovakia to Australia.
She said the school's international focus, which was set by its faculty before her appointment, was one of UR's attractions.
Newman said she also found the university's philosophy of education that provides for integration of undergraduate and professional programs to be appealing.
