Sep. 21 -- Last year, Lexmark bagged the "techno-Turk" market with the first digital photo printer that needed no PC.
Now the Lexington printer company has teamed up with Kodak to go after a bigger segment -- those who demand simplicity and lower cost.
The two companies yesterday launched the Kodak Personal Picture Maker by Lexmark. An early sign that the printer is easy enough to use: Kodak spokesman Joe Runde left one in his house for a few minutes while he finished some yardwork. When he went back inside, he found that his 14-year-old daughter had created two 5-by-7 images of the family cat.
And the instructions were still vacuum-sealed.
