Officials to Retire from Pennsylvania State University Health System.

Sep. 21 -- Two key officials with the Penn State Geisinger Health System will leave their positions within the next year.

The announcement Monday of the retirements of Stuart Heydt and C. McCollister Evarts coincided with the news the system's board of directors has formed a committee to study reorganizing the system and leadership.

The announcement also follows a $150,000 state fine on Sept. 13 against the Geisinger Health Plan for late payments of patient claims and other violations, and the infusion Thursday of $15 million into the HMO from the foundation that oversees the health plan.
