Sep. 28 -- The Atlantic Monthly, a national literary institution for 140 years, was sold by Daily News chairman and co-publisher Mortimer B. Zuckerman to the chairman of National Journal Group.
Terms were not disclosed.
With the deal, many expect the National Journal's David Bradley to move the Atlantic, long associated with Boston's cultural elite and high-brow New England culture, to Washington to join his media empire.
In his first big move, Bradley has asked veteran Atlantic editor in chief William Whitworth to step down.
Bradley, who couldn't be reached, is expected to tap Michael Kelly, editor of the conservative National Journal, his flagship, to head the Atlantic, where...
