`Fantasy Factory' Could Help Hasbro Capitalize on Well-Known Characters.

Oct. 1 -- PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- Furby on Ice? Rich Uncle Pennybags on Broadway? A Candy Land theme park, or Clue mystery dinner theater?

The possibilities are endless.

Hasbro Thursday announced the creation of a new "fantasy factory" in its toyland empire to create movies, books, Broadway shows and other entertainment endeavors based on its well-known games, toys and characters.

Herb Baum, Hasbro's president and chief operating officer, said the step is part of Hasbro's evolution "into a leading children's and family entertainment company."
