Oct. 22 -- Cheers to Idaho State University's College of Education. Teaming education majors with experienced teachers before those college students trying teaching solo is such a good idea, you wonder why it hasn't happened before.

This program is being tested at Emerson and Temple View elementary schools in Idaho Falls, but it's sure to be expanded.

ISU wants education majors to get more classroom experience before they graduate. So they're putting these college students into schools sooner -some as early as their sophomore year. These teachers in training spend between nine and 15 hours a week working with a classroom teacher and students.
