Nov. 2 -- MANATEE, Fla. -- A host of public figures and local politicians loaned their varying degrees of celebrity status to the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport in the hope of helping Executive Director Fred Piccolo lure air service from Southwest Airlines.

Sarasota-based Swain Film and Video produced a short video promotion featuring ESPN broadcaster and Sarasota County resident Dick Vitale, among others, urging Herb Kelleher, founder and president of Southwest, to bring low-fare air service to the local airport.
