Nov. 1 -- BIG CHANGES FOR NEWSPAPERS: You can get a good picture of the dramatic changes in the Inland Empire newspaper industry by comparing this year's list of daily newspapers with the one appearing a year ago.
Last year's list contained nine entries. This year's has eight, reflecting The Press-Enterprise Co.'s purchase and assimilation of The Hemet News earlier this year.
Of the eight dailies left, three of them were delivered to a new owner this year. Dean Singleton's Media News Group of Denver purchased the San Bernardino County Sun, Inland Valley Daily Bulletin and Redlands Daily Facts from Donrey Media Group and Gannett Co.
