Dec. 5 -- HONDA-GM TALKS A BOON?: A General Motors-Honda alliance could be a boon for the Miami Valley. The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that GM and Honda are in intense negotiations to do business together. In addition to buying engines or licensing engine technology from Honda, GM is eager to develop a broader relationship with the automaker as part of its overall strategy of establishing a commanding presence in Asia and regaining lost market share in North America.
GM is particularly eager to get its hands on some of Honda's industry-leading advanced gasoline engines. The Journal, quoting a person familiar with the talks, said GM wants to buy 100,000 low-emission six-cylinder gasoline engines from Honda...
