Massachusetts Median Income Decline while Employment Surges.

Dec. 9 -- Massachusetts workers are earning 5 percent less than they did a decade ago, even though employment has surpassed levels achieved during the 1980s boom, according to a report issued by Northeastern University.

Last year, the median income of Massachusetts' Center for Labor Market Studies.

Income figures are adjusted for inflation.

Declining median income may also point to a growing gap between the earnings of high- and low-paid wage earners, economists said.
