Commercial Developer Buys Prime Folsom, Calif., Land.

Dec. 16 -- One of the biggest and arguably most coveted parcels of office land around the capital was purchased Wednesday by the Evergreen Co. of Sacramento.

Evergreen, one of the most active commercial developers in the region since the mid-1980s, bought 125 acres of rolling, oak-studded land in Folsom's Broadstone community from the Money Store.

The development company and its longtime money partner, the Lewis Family Trust of England, reportedly paid about $18 million -- not including $5.4 million in bonds -- for the land on the north side of U.S. 50.

Joe Gagliardi, president of the Folsom Economic Development Corp., welcomed Evergreen's entrance into the booming foothill community.
