California Judge Denies Bail for Former Infoseek Executive.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Dec. 21--Patrick Naughton, the former Infoseek Corp. executive convicted last week of possessing child pornography, remained in federal prison Monday after a judge rejected a request that he be released on bail because of legal ambiguity surrounding the child pornography law.
The U.S. attorney's office in Los Angeles had agreed with defense lawyers Friday that Naughton should be immediately released on $100,000 bail until the court could determine whether his conviction would be affected by a federal appeals court ruling that struck down parts of the law under which Naughton was convicted.
