Dec. 22--A group of managers at pharmaceutical company Nycomed Amersham have completed what they termed one of the largest management buyouts in Capital Region history by purchasing the drug-making facility from its British parent company for about $60 million.

The new company, called Organichem Corp., will continue producing prescription drug ingredients for Nycomed for at least the next eight years.

Organichem also will pursue contracts with other firms, with annual revenues projected at $60 million.
