Dec. 22--Come New Year's Eve, what sort of rations will the army on Y2K duty be dining on?
Shrimp, champagne and caviar, if they're lucky or working in Silicon Valley.
But in Michigan, most Y2K workers may be lucky to get grape juice and pizza or cold cuts.
Computer experts, police, customer service and public relations representatives and managers who will be working rather than partying will be fed to varying degrees by grateful -- or perhaps even guilt-ridden -- employers.
Ford Motor Co. will cater a "business class" meal and give workers a gift to remember the evening. General Motors Corp. will allow 150 workers to eat free from the office cafeteria.
Compuware Corp. will feed and provide fun for the 530 workers on duty...
