General Motors Breaks Mold with Concept Cars at Los Angeles Show.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Jan. 6--An all-wheel-drive Oldsmobile hatchback sedan and a tall Saturn station wagon are scheduled to debut today as concept cars at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show.

General Motors Corp. is showing the cars to gauge public reaction to their innovative interiors and styling.

The Oldsmobile Profile would fit in the GM division's lineup between the upscale Aurora and the midsize Intrigue, and could become the type of automobile the Intrigue evolves into by the middle of the decade.

Saturn's CV1 is a forerunner of the division's first sport-utility vehicle, expected in model year 2002.
