Woes Continue for Pacific Bell in Wake of Hacker Attack.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Jan. 21--A number of Pacific Bell Internet customers struggled for two days to send e-mail due to a software foul-up, and others couldn't log on at all because of a password glitch, the phone company said Thursday.

The gaffes were the latest in a series of problems in recent weeks to affect the company's online service, which has 330,000 subscribers. Pacific Bell Internet was unable to say how many people were inconvenienced by the latest problem.

Earlier this month, a teenage hacker broke into Pac Bell's Internet server and filched thousands of secret passwords, which forced 63,000 subscribers to change their passwords.

Separately, problems with new software supplied to Pacific Bell Internet interfered with the company's e-mail service....
