Abercrombie & Fitch to Open Store in Columbus, Ga.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Jan. 19--Abercrombie & Fitch, a moderately priced high-end casual men and women's clothing company, is coming to Columbus in May.
The Reynoldsburg, Ohio-based retailer will absorb about 9,500 square feet at Peachtree Mall in the spaces that formerly housed County Seat, which closed in June of last year, and The Limited, which closed Dec. 31.
Once a unit of The Limited Inc., the now-independent, publicly-traded company touts itself as a specialty retailer of upscale casual sportswear to those between the ages of 18 and 22, much like its competitors J.Crew and American Eagle Outfitters. Typical items include women's wool sweaters, which run about $80, bootleg jeans go for $60 and men's fleece jackets sell for about $70.
