Kodak, Hewlett-Packard Team Up on Digital Photos.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Feb. 4--Consumers will be able to get fast, high-quality prints of digital and traditional photos at their local one-hour photo shop, under a new joint venture between Hewlett-Packard Co. and Eastman Kodak Co.

The two long-time rivals in the digital imaging field will join forces to stock tens of thousands of photo retailers with all the technology necessary to print digital images quickly and at resolutions much higher than consumers can get from simple home inkjet machines.

Palo Alto-based HP will provide the scanners and printers and Rochester, N.Y.-based Kodak will supply the film processing equipment.
