Fort Worth, Texas-Based Travel Company, Northwest Airlines to See Mediator.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Feb. 9--Sabre Holdings Corp., the world's No. 1 travel-reservation company, and Northwest Airlines Corp. will work with a mediator to try to settle a dispute over providing real-time flight information to Sabre.

Texas District Judge Thomas Lowe appointed a mediator Tuesday and gave the companies 14 days to settle, Northwest said in a statement. Lowe rejected a Sabre request for an injunction requiring the airline to provide the information and lifted a temporary order he issued Jan. 31 forcing Northwest to do so.

Sabre provides up-to-the minute information on the arrival and departure times of flights, and the data are accessible to the public through Sabre's Travelocity.com Internet site.
