Southwest Airlines to Test Twin Passenger-Loading System at Dallas Airport.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Mar. 8--FORT WORTH, Texas--In an effort to improve its ability to get its planes into and out of an airport in 20 minutes, Southwest Airlines has begun a six-month test of a new twin passenger-loading bridge system at Dallas' Love Field.
Technicians have installed a dual-passenger jetway system on one gate at Love Field. And this week, Southwest's ground operations workers began familiarizing themselves with the innovative system. It will be at least one or two months before Southwest tests the system in loading and unloading passengers.
The dual bridges will enable Southwest to load passengers simultaneously through the front and rear doors of its Boeing 737s. The system could cut the time it takes for passengers to leave or board an aircraft....
