Mar. 21--Saga Communications Inc., a Grosse Pointe Farms-based broadcasting company, will purchase all the issued and outstanding membership units of Tak Communications II, from Tak Communications LLC for $7 million. Tak Communications II, at the time of closing, will be the operator and licensee of WKIO-FM in the Champaign-Urbana, Ill., market. Saga expects to close the transaction in the third quarter.
Northwest Airlines announced Monday it will increase its fuel surcharge because of rising costs. Effective May 1, an increase from 10 cents a kilogram to 15 cents a kilogram will apply to all North American origin transpacific and transatlantic shipments.
