Former FCC Chief to Join Boston Internet Start-up's Advisory Board.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Mar. 27--A conviction that the Internet soon will "swallow voice telephony" has led former Federal Communications Commission chairman Reed Hundt to join the advisory board of a new Boston Net start-up.
Hundt last week joined eYak.com, a secretive new Boston-based start-up that says it will reveal details this summer of what it promises is an innovative new service providing telecommunications over the Net.
eYak was founded by David Friend and Jeff Flowers, four-time high-tech company founders whose last business, FaxNet Corp. of Boston, was sold in November for $240 million to Critical Path Inc. of San Francisco.
Hundt, a Yale classmate of Friend's, will advise Friend along with a board of directors that includes former New England Telephone...
