Mar. 8--PASSENGER MILES UP FOR AMERICA WEST: America West Airlines flew a record 1.3 billion revenue-passenger miles in February, a 5percent increase over last year.
A paying passenger traveling one mile is one revenue-passenger mile.
The Tempe-based carrier filled 65.8percent of its seats last month, up from 64.1percent in February 1999.
America West also increased its capacity or available seats by 2.2 percent.
AMTRUST BANK TO OPEN BRANCH IN SCOTTSDALE: Cleveland-based AmTrust Bank will open its first Arizona branch Thursday in Scottsdale followed by one in Sun City this summer and more later this year.
