Dell Computer Battles Compaq for Lead Position in Server Market.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Apr. 7--NEW YORK--Michael Dell told Wall Street analysts Thursday that the explosive growth of the Internet in both hardware and services could lead his $25 billion company to double in revenue in the next few years.
But that means winning the battle for the hearts, minds and wallets of companies that buy servers, the machines that power computer networks.
"Every time you type www, you're accessing a server somewhere," Dell told analysts at The Pierre, a Four Seasons Hotel across Fifth Avenue from Central Park.
