Apr. 14--Negotiators for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co. and its striking Machinists will talk again Saturday under the supervision of a federal mediator, the first meeting since the workers walked off their jobs early Monday.
Meanwhile, the striking members of District 776 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers were notified by mail that their company insurance has been canceled as of early Monday, when they went on strike. Such cancellations are common in strikes.
The striking workers may continue insurance coverage under the same plan but must do so at their own expense until the strike ends. The company is sending information packets to workers with instructions on how to continue the coverage.
