Microsoft to Fix Two Virus Vulnerabilities in Outlook E-mail Software.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

May 16--Microsoft Corp. plans to release two security fixes next week for its popular Outlook e-mail program to help guard against the spread of viruses like the "ILOVEYOU" worm that recently paralyzed computer networks around the world.

The Redmond, Wash.-based software giant said Monday that users of Outlook 98 and 2000 can begin downloading security "patches" at http://officeupdate.microsoft.com starting early next week. The patch will prevent users from opening infected attachments and notify them when anyone outside is trying get access to their Outlook address books.
