May 22--LOTUS LESSONS: IBM Corp.'s Lotus software unit in Cambridge is planning to teach the business world some lessons on how to use computers to train employees.

Lotus chief executive Al Zollar is heading up a new IBM unit, Mindspan Solutions, that'll apply a variety of company resources to the task of "distributed learning" - the use of computer networks to educate members of large organizations.

"Our sweet spot is going to be relatively large enterprises," says Zollar, who took the Lotus reins from his predecessor, Jeff Papows in February.
