Dell Computer Executives Take a Pay Cut as Growth Slows, Stock Falls.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

May 31--Michael Dell may be the boss of the world's second-largest personal-computer company, but he still gets a performance review.

The namesake and other senior executives of Dell Computer Corp. saw their pay fall last year as the company's torrid growth slowed and its stock stumbled.

For the fiscal year ended Jan. 28, Michael Dell's cash compensation dropped 26 percent to about $2.6 million from about $3.6 million a year ago, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing made public Tuesday.

Dell's salary was roughly the same at $850,000, but his bonus dropped 36 percent to $1.7 million from $2.6 million, not including the value of his stock options. It was the first time Dell had a pay cut since 1994. He is still one of the...
