Jun. 20--Boston telecommunications start-up PhoneRun said it has reached what could become a multimillion-dollar deal with WorldCom to offer "phonecasting" services, allowing people to call in and use spoken commands to request news or other content be read to them.

The PhoneRun-WorldCom pact was one of several telecommunications deals by area companies yesterday, including major customer wins for Internet telephony provider iBasis Inc. of Burlington, software-over-broadband provider Into
