Royal Dutch/Shell, Bechtel Discuss Expansion of Gas Joint Venture.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Jun. 27--Royal Dutch/Shell Group and Bechtel are continuing their discussions on enlarging their power and gas joint venture, a move that would include transferring assets from Shell's Houston-based Coral Energy unit to the operation, a Shell spokeswoman said Monday.

In April, Royal Dutch/Shell officials told analysts that discussions were under way with Bechtel on expanding the InterGen joint venture through the transfer of the Coral assets. These are mainly gas pipelines and gas storage facilities that once were part of Tejas Gas.

Kitty Borah, spokeswoman for Shell Oil Co. in Houston, said the expansion talks are continuing.

After the pipeline and storage assets are shifted to the joint venture, Coral will continue its natural gas marketing...
