Staples to Open 11 Sites in Tarrant County, Texas, as Part of Nationwide Plan.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Jul. 6--FORT WORTH, Texas--Staples, the nation's second-largest office supply chain, is entering the Metroplex this year with 11 stores and plans to open additional locations over the next three years.
The Framingham, Mass.-based company will open its first Tarrant County store in Watauga on July 29. Staples is also opening stores this month in Cedar Hill, Cleburne, Irving, Allen and Frisco. Stores in Lewisville, Greenville and East Dallas are scheduled to open in the fall. A Stephenville store will open in early 2001.
Each location will be about 24,000 square feet and employ about 35 people.
