Hewlett-Packard to Invest $10 Million in Small Chandler, Ariz., Firm.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Jul. 19--Computer giant Hewlett-Packard Co. announced Tuesday that it will invest $10 million in a small Chandler firm that hopes to tame the office paper glut.
ImageTag Inc., founded in 1997 by document-imaging veteran Steve Irons, has developed a system that uses bar-coded Post-it Notes to help office workers scan and file documents into their computers. The funding will help ImageTag speed up expansion and availability of its KwikTag system, officials from both companies said. "HP -- along with many workers in the office -- recognizes the need to more effectively manage incoming paper documents," Irons said. The company plans to double employment to 50 people by year's end.
