Jul. 21--It's bad enough that James Janis spent $10,000 for a mile-long trench from a US West/Qwest trunk line to his Cerrillos home and office in the expectation that the telephone company would provide him the phone lines he needs to run his business.
But then Janis found out he had been misinformed about the lines -- despite his investment, they weren't going to be available after all.
On top of everything else, Janis is a shareholder in Qwest Communications International, Inc., the Denver-based telecommunications company that on June 30 completed its $36 billion acquisition of US West.
