Colorado Attorney General Looks to Help Customers in United Airlines Snafu.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Aug. 12--DENVER--Colorado Attorney General Ken Salazar called Thursday for greater enforcement of consumer protection laws in light of customer complaints against United Airlines.
Salazar aired his views in separate letters to United Airlines Chairman James Goodwin in Chicago and to members of Colorado's congressional delegation in Washington.
"The large reported number of flight delays and cancellations is a major inconvenience and creates significant economic and personal hardships to Colorado travelers," Salazar advised Goodwin.
United's service problems have been attributed to labor disputes with airline pilots and other employee unions.
