Pending Tests, Coca-Cola Stops Production of One-Liter Coke, Sprite in Senegal.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Aug. 24--Coca-Cola Co. has suspended production of one-liter Coke and one-liter Sprite soft drinks in Senegal, pending test results on two bottles found to contain a "mold"-like substance.
The northwest African nation's minister of commerce alerted Coke officials to the situation Aug. 17, Robert Lindsey, Coke's public affairs director for its Africa and Middle East operations, said Wednesday.
Pending test results the government is conducting in Dakar, the nation's capital, as well as in laboratories in Europe, the world's largest bottler of soft drinks agreed to halt production of those two lines indefinitely.
The suspension does not affect the company's other brands. The government also did not ask for a recall of one-liter Coke and Sprite...
