Delta Air Lines to Offer Service from Boston to London's Gatwick Airport.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Sep. 14--Get ready for price wars to London from Boston.
Delta Air Lines, which began Boston-Los Angeles service this summer and drove the fares down on that route, said yesterday it will begin service to London's Gatwick Airport from Logan International Airport on June 1, pending federal government approval.
Four airlines -- American, United, British Airways, and Virgin -- fly nonstop from Boston to London, making it Logan's busiest international route.
"We are pleased to begin service on the largest international market from Boston," said Mark Drusch, Delta's senior vice president of network management, in a press release.
