Oregon Universities Team Up for New Bend, Ore., Branch Campus.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Sep. 20--Oregon State University will partner with Eastern Oregon University and the Oregon Institute of Technology to bid for a new university branch campus in Bend.

The two smaller schools will increase the range of programs offered by OSU. Eastern Oregon University will chip in with teaching courses under the agreement. The Oregon Institute of Technology will provide tech and engineering programs.

"We're confident that OSU's branch campus proposal will provide Central Oregonians with the broadest possible range of high quality, accredited educational opportunities," Tim White, OSU's provost and executive vice president, said in a statement Tuesday.
